No place like home

Finally got my mom home and resting in her own bed tonight. It has been a long worrisome few days with far too many hours spent away from my husband & our 4 lil monsters. But as always there are lessons in everything you experience, these are a few I learned and/or was reminded of over these last few days….

1. The amount of prayers & well wishes sent my mom’s way over the last few days were far beyond anything we could have imagined and yet another example of God’s work.

2. I refuse to ever loose my faith in God, even in our darkest hour. He is forever my rock, my strength, and my courage.

3. My husband frequently tells me it is tough filling my shoes when I get sick or am needed else where. But he stepped up to the plate as I knew he would and made it possible for me to stay with my mom every single night. I simply adore you babe, you are the most supportive, loving, best friend, & husband ever, and I thank God for you daily. You never cease to amaze me.

4. It breaks my heart to hear my babies cry for me. I cherish each and every moment with our 4 lil monsters and miss them like crazy when I have to be away from them. Thank you babe for working so hard to make it possible for me to be a stay at home mom. Both the hardest & my absolute favorite job I have ever had!

5. FaceTime is an amazing feature that allowed me to see my babies several times a day while sitting with their maw-maw. Including my super sweet 18 month old that has grown up with FaceTime talking to her paw-paw in New Orleans daily. She talked up a storm for a full 15 minutes straight in one of our chats. It still amazes me that God blessed me with these 4 miracles. I learn so much from each of them daily.

6. I have the most kind hearted mother-in-law ever. Sitting up at 3 am offering comforting words during what she knew was a difficult time for me was something more than I would have ever expected of her. But she selflessly did & called me as soon as she woke up the next day to check on me again. God blessed me with a 2nd mom the day I married her son. I love you Susie!

7. I am thankful that while my parents have been divorced for over 30 years. My dad still cared enough to call and check on my mom’s well being daily. Love ya Daddy-O!

8. My mom is one tough gal! And much stronger than she ever gives herself credit for. We are so blessed to have her live with us. Madalin wouldn’t have any place to sleep if she didn’t, since she sneaks in her maw-maw’s bed each night. They have been glued to her all evening and she is eating it up;) Welcome home Jillskie! We love ya Bunches!

9. Our friends, truly our family by choice. We are so blessed to have each and every one of them in our lives. Guess you can pick your family after all!

10. There is no place like home. I am thankful to be able to sleep peacefully next to my snoring husband & our precious baby girl tonight. To know that our other 3 monsters will be safely tucked in their beds (or maw-maw’s bed for one lil monster). And knowing that our mom will be allowed to get a good nights rest in her own comfy bed tonight.

11. Faith & a PMA can get you through anything!

I can’t get over the overwhelming support from family & friends during this very scary time. The out pour of prayers & well wishes for my mom and our little family have been so uplifting!

I am so blessed to have such a supportive husband that is my back bone when I feel weak. I know he is taking fantastic care of our 4 lil monsters which gives me the ability to be at my mom’s bedside.

I can’t begin to explain how torn I am wanting to be in two places at one time. I am where I need to be. Yet missing my husband and our babies so stinkin’ much. Fingers crossed we will be able to take her home soon! In the mean time, please keep the prayers coming for mom!
