Posted onFour injured monsters
Posted onTime to put these monsters in a bubble! I can’t believe all four of our monsters have gotten hurt within three days.
First Bitty was playing outside the day before yesterday. She went to run past daddy to come after me and somehow tripped over his foot and landed on her face on the sidewalk. Thankfully she only ended up with a brush burn on her sweet little face. Daddy & I may have took it worse than she did.
Then Buggie had her shaving incident yesterday afternoon. When she managed to scrape her lip & chin. Lets not forget the lovely lack of eyebrows as well.
Last night a group of the teens went skateboarding downtown. On Budah’s last trick before heading home for curfew he landed on his face. Broke his glasses. Busted his eyebrow, hand, and arm up. Thankfully after skateboarding for 14 years now this has pretty much been the worst of his injuries (knock on wood). Of course I was a nervous wreck until he walked through our door.
And completing the circle today at the football game just as the girls started cheerleading Bunny got stung by not one but two stinkin bees! She seems to have had a bit of an allergic reaction to them. So we removed the stingers, got her an ice pack, and some Benadryl before we left the game. One of her sweet best friends cried just as much as she did.
Oh my word, these monsters are gonna be the death of me! If only there was a way to forever protect them. Guess I will just keep a trusty old first aid kit handy and always have the hugs & kisses waiting for them.
My shaving toddler
Posted onBudah apparently shaved in front of Buggie recently. So today when we had eleven monsters playing upstairs she went to the restroom and decided that was a good time for her to shave like her big brother. I mean after all she is a boy too right? Eek! This little tot of ours managed to shave both of her eyebrows & scraped her lip and chin before she realized it wasn’t a good idea. Sigh, just a few days before her first school pictures. Looks like we will wait to buy the spring package of pictures instead. After a few bandaids & hugs we had a little talk about why not only do little girls not shave, but monsters shouldn’t shave at all.
Friday the 13th
Posted onIt has always cracked me up how freaked out people get over this day. I’m incredibly superstitious myself. If a black cat crosses my path, you can bet your sweet ass I am turning around! I refuse to ever sweep under someone’s feet. As well as many other odd superstitions I believe in. But this day has never been one of them. Thirteen is one of my favorite numbers. And who doesn’t love a Friday? Besides this day is a bit more special because it happens to be one of my favorite cousin’s birthday. We loved getting to see Joe & his wife, Sandra, a few days ago. Joe is Buggie’s paran (she has two Godfathers, Joe & Matt’s best friend/brother, Phil). He has lived with us off and on since she was a baby so she is very close to him. Now they live in Sealy, TX, so we love getting to see them any chance we can.
So it’s Friday the 13th. I am looking forward to my husband and son getting off of work and our two little ladies getting home from school. We have a few things planned and I can’t wait to get this weekend started!

Posted onGood morning sunshine
Posted onHubster & Budah already off to work. Buggie happily hopped on the school bus after a grumpy morning! A certain little lady obviously woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Watched Bunny practice the cup song until it was time to bring her to school. Came home and found this inspirational message waiting for me from Miss J:
I love this lady. Forgiveness is a work in progress for me. I do feel better since I wrote my forgiveness blog. I had been guilty of continuing to read the stabs being taken at me. But oddly enough I have looked at them in a new light. It really doesn’t matter what others think of me or what they say in attempt to hurt me. It changes absolutely nothing. I will continue to work on my forgiveness and put my family first as I always have. I refuse to allow another person’s passive stabs control my emotions. Which is the very reason we cut ties.
Under control
Posted onBuggie helped me cook dinner tonight. She is one of the funniest monsters I have ever known. She walked in the kitchen today and told me “We’ve got this under control mama!”. She is so proud when she helps me and never misses a step. For being only four years old, it amazes me how much she pays attention to detail. Homework & bath time were all finished early tonight. So there was even time to bake some cookies before bedtime!
