Dom’s Dinosaur Day!

Posted on

We decided we wanted to take our grandson to see DINOSAURS for his 4th birthday. So we headed for Cedar Creek to Dinosaur Park for the day! It was a fun filled day of dinos, exploring, and big imaginations. Dom wore that big handsome smile of his pretty much all day!The lady that put Dom’s wrist band on at the dino park told him she was putting it on him to keep him safe from the dinosaurs. As we were leaving Dom saw me start to take mine off and told me “Wait Maw-Maw! You need to leave that on so the dinosaurs can’t eat you!” Thank goodness he kept me safe!

Five years today…

Posted on

Five years ago today we spent our first night in our new home. So many memories have been made. So many drawings on walls (crayons, lipstick, whatever a toddler could get their hands on), handprints up the stairway from a little one learning to climb stairs, and so many milestones measured on the door frame in our laundry room from our children and grandchildren that won’t stop growing. There is no one in this world I would rather build these memories with.

Budah, Nina, & The Teletubbies

Posted on

When Budah was Nina’s age he was obsessed with the Teletubbies. He would burst into tears the second the credits would start rolling. I can remember us recording several tapes stopping them just before the credits so he had an endless flow of his favorite show without breaking his little heart. His 2nd birthday was even Teletubbies themed and he loved the yellow one “lala” the most. This morning I found the teletubbies on YouTube for Nina and she seems to like it too. Unfortunately for me, it was just as ridiculous as I remembered it being almost two decades ago, ha ha.

After some breakfast, watching the teletubbies, playtime, and a little shopping we went to have lunch with her Paw-Paw at work today. We love Nina & Maw-Maw Tuesdays!

Solar Eclipse of 2017

Posted on

It’s been such a big deal in the weeks leading up to today. The girls were excited about it. Matt took off a half day to come home and see it with our children and grandchildren. We opted to forgo the glasses and make the pin hole projector to not risk the little ones eyes. My friend and her family even came over to watch it with us. The kids all got a kick out of seeing the eclipse, even our grandson thought it was neat. I imagine our 20 month old granddaughter will be more interested in 2024 for the next one, but she wasn’t about to miss out on seeing what was in that box too, ha ha.

After 19 days of having my husband by my side I have to face the sad reality that he has to go back to work today. I hope there never comes a time that I’m glad he’s going back to work. I’m thankful that after all of these years I still love being with him as much as possible. He told me to take it easy today. I don’t know about all of that, but I’ll try.

This little piggy went we we we all the way back to Texas, and brought Mardi along too!

And so after two and a half weeks of fun spent in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama with family and friends it’s time for us to head back home with this little piggy and our newest addition to our family, Mardi. Word on the street is Najah (16 years old and hates road trips now) and Maw-Maw really miss us a lot! So we loaded up early this morning and started the long drive home. Once again, they all handled the trip well and turns out Mardi likes car rides almost as much as Violet. Lots of fun memories were made and Gigi made us feel so at home the entire time! This drive didn’t have a ton of rain or traffic thankfully!
