Woke up early to get our traditional New Year’s Day dinner started. (Pork- health, cabbage- wealth, black eyed peas- luck).

spent a calm day at home with family after a fun filled night with family and friends bringing in the new year. 

Then this evening had to say goodbye to Paw-Paw as he headed back home to NOLA. Never our favorite part of the visit. I am however thankful for the last ten days our lil monsters had visiting with him and all of the incredible laughter I got to listen to. 

When we got home we realized the new year was starting out in a not so pleasant way with a gas leak and a house full of fire men. Even scarier was watching six fire men run away from our home at one point. Incredibly thankful for the outcome and the quick response we received. As well as the support and concern from our family and friends. I think 2017 will be just fine! Now for some overdue sleep!
