This evening Budah & I went out for a little date night. He wanted to buy me a coffee so our first stop was Starbucks. After sitting there for quite some time behind someone it was our turn at the window. I reached out of my window with the cash and she handed me my coffee instead and said the folks in front of us had paid for our order! I was so shocked! Matt & I are firm believers in paying it forward. We frequently try to do kind acts to teach our children how to be caring and giving. This was the first time I experienced it from a stranger. Budah and I were so surprised. Of course I’m sure my son didn’t mind being able to put his money back in his pocket. We live in such an ugly world these days. People get in too much of a rush to be kind to others. It’s little moments like this that God shows us the kindness of a stranger and the good that is still in this crazy world. Pay it forward sometime, I promise it will be just as rewarding for you as it is for a stranger when you get to see the look of surprise and gratitude they experience or knowing you just might have brightened what could have been a very blue day for that person. It was perfect timing for me tonight and I’m so thankful I experienced it with my son. Not to mention my teenage son opted to spend his Friday evening with his mom before hanging out with friends. We must be doing something right with these monsters of ours. Feeling quite blessed tonight after a pretty emotional day.
